Mitchell Heating Air Conditioning and Duct Cleaning replaced an run capacitator on 6/5/09. They charged me 277.91 for this. Today is 8/8/09 just at 2 mounths and the run capacitator is not working. I called to see if they would look at it. The man from Mitchell Heating and Air told me the capacitator was under warrenty for a year. Then he told me the service charge to come out would be 200.00 dollars.
So, the way I see it maybe they make a habit of putting bad equipment in so they can charge HUGE service charges. It is a bad economy now days so maybe I should not judge them for trying to make a buck. To all you people out there that work hard in my opinion I would never use them, unless you have a very good knowledge base on heating and air. They could put a inexpensive piece of equipment in like 70.00 dollars worth. Then charge you 277.00 dollars to put it in maybe knowing they would be out on a 200.00 service call in a couple months.
I asked him if I could just pick up a new run capacitator to replace the faulty one. I was told it doesnt work like that. So, the only way they would stand behind the warranty on the run capcitator I paid for is if they put it in for me. Iam not paying anyone another 200.00 dooars to replace a part they put in that is no good. If they had come out as a courtesy to back up thier work and found a differant problem I would not have a problem with paying them for coming out. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THIER WORK, note this is my opinion based on my purchase. I will never use them again.
