I responded to a add in the newspaper for a truck driving position. I called the number which was in Calif. I had a interview set up in Baddock PA when I arrive the look I received was like they had seen a two headed monster not a Black man.
I knew then that I didn't or would ever have a job there.
I filled out the application and had to take a test.
Someone in the office called out give him the new test, after filling out the papers and taking the test I was told that I would have to take a driving test and all results would be sent to Calif. And I would be contacted next week.
The person who gave me the test left the room came back about 2 minutes later an said well we will give you the driving test later. After 2 weeks passed I called Calif. Talked to Driver recruting told them what was said they had someone from Braddock call me saying I passed the test and everything checked out OK but they had already hired someone before I filled out the application.
And they would keep my application on file (in the trash file) but decided not to go that way I got the idea what way the person was talking about.
