In April, I purchased a Kenmore Washer from Sears. After having it one month, a service repair was needed (transmission was shot). I then purchased an extended warrantee.
On April 9, I phoned for service repair (under warrantee) and was told that my warrantee had expired 1 yr. After purchase. I was told that no extended warrantee was purchased, and that there would be a charge for the call. I told them to forget it.
Approx 2 wks later, a renewal offer for warrantee was sent to me, at which time I phoned to see just when the last one had expired. I was told in May. Miraculously, it was on file.
I requested a new service order be granted/covered and based on my first call (to which they had no recollection or record). I was then told that I would be charged because NOW, my warrantee had expired..."Sorry, it has just been days, too. There's nothing we can do about it"
I offered that I had a long distance phone call to them (after having phoned the (800) # for service 1st) on April 9th, and that was proof of my call. They disagreed. I was told to file a complaint with the National Customer Relations Dept. They would "see what they could do"."No Promises though... And again. Sorry."
