USPS Horrible Hiring Proceeders

On September 17... I was called in to have an interview for the USPS as an RCA. I showed up an hour early to the USPS Phoenix location because of not knowing how bad traffic would be and I wanted to be on time. When it came to my interview, I handed the USPS application to the interviewer and we went over it. I failed to fill out a few boxes, one being for past driving violations. I wasn't sure when I last received a speeding ticket... But it did happen in the last 5 years so I was supposed to fill it in. We get my application squared away and we moved on to questioning. After about 10 minutes of that, the interviewer got up and left the room for a few minutes. When she came back, she said I was not qualified for the job based on me missing some of the parts I was supposed to fill in on the application. I was stunned and shocked. Then she proceeded to tell me that because I missed filling out the application correctly, I wasn't taking the job seriously. And that being a USPS employee, you shouldn't over look missing to fill in a box on an application. I was about to get emotional over what she said. The truth is, you have to take a test for this position. I received an 88% on it, and you only need a 70%. I've also made three trips to their location, on time every time, driving 60 miles, round trip. I was very offended and insulted by her comment, and being that two other employees were sitting there for training on her position, I was embarrassed. I could have accepted not getting a job based on my work history, etc. But over not filling in a few boxes on the application and being told I didn't take the job position seriously, what?

I spent close to 9 hours at their location the three trips I was there. I consumed myself in getting this job. I know this is a government job and they need to be selective, and alot of paperwork is required and it needs to be accurate, but I question the hiring practices the USPS conducts. It would have been horrible if I turned down another job offer, not knowing that in a 10 minute interview, I would be told I didn't qualify for the reasons she stated. I'm very disappointed in the conduct of the USPS. I question why you have to take a test before an interview, because it goes all for not. Also, I paid for a book to help me on the test, it was $130. I'm out time, money and hope based on the reason, I did not qualify based on filling out an application to their satisfaction, unbelievable.
