Intentional Phone Damage

AS A FORMER SPRINT EMPLOYEE, I have witnessed firsthand accounts of phone technicians intentionally spraying trace amounts of water onto device motherboards as a way to make the customer pay the $99-$119 charge to get a replacement device. I've seen it done many times. A motherboard takes hours to days to corrode after being exposed to water, so the customer never suspects the employee. It could even take up to a few months for the corrosion to affect the phone, therefore the customer never suspects the sprint employee. I have witnessed employees open phones, spray them, then dry them off with high pressure air machines. BEWARE: when customers give sprint employees a hard time, employees have many different means of taking their frustration out. Remember that employees are human too.

There are too many occasions when sprint customers are forced to pay for a replacement device, yet claiming that they never got their phone wet. Ask yourself if you've been to a sprint store with your phone within the last few months. You could be a victim.
