Realty Executives AKA Remax Previously Dishonest Refuses to pay bills after requesting service Bartlett

I own a local computer services company. On April 7 WorldCom Wireless Internet contact me to see if I had any interest in servicing the Remax business that Randy and Pat Mayall were running on stage road in Bartlett, TN.

According to WorldCom, there were some equipment changes that were to be made by WorldCom and it would be necessary to deploy DCHP on Mr. Mayalls network, in order for the internet connection to work. I told WorldCom that I would do it if their customer wanted it done and would pay us.

I called Mr. Mayall to tell him that WorldCom contacted me about his network configuration change. I told him that I could do it and it would take about 1 hour. I also told him it would be $100. Our normal rate is $150 per hour but I didn't believe he should pay the high rate for a somewhat easy change. I told him that I would bill him after the work was completed.

He agreed and asked me to arrive the next morning at 8:30 am, as WorldCom was supposed to be there at that time also and the internet was important to their business. I arrived promptly at 8:30 but he was not there. We waited until 9:00 when other employees showed up and let us in to do the work. I completed the work in 1 hour and had Pat Mayall sign the bill that states the time, work done and price. I then billed them for the $100 plus a fee of $25 for us having to wait 30 minutes to get in the building.

Months went by and they would not pay. On 9/10/02, I received a letter from Randy stating that he didn't think he should pay since WorldCom made the equipment change. He also stated that WorldCom would not comp the $100 he was supposed to pay me so he was holding my money in hope that I could get WorldCom to do something. The problem is that I am NOT a WorldCom employee. I was told that he would pay by him and his wife. I did the work only after Randy asked me to and I have a signed bill where I did the work for THEM, not WorldCom.

I realize that $125 is not that much money and perhaps I should just write it off. However, I gave them my word and lived up to it - I expect the same in return.

I have contact a local news crew and it appears that a segment will be done on this next month! I'll update you as things happen.
