I got the wrong end of the stick from day one.
Ready my story: so Clark Howard recommended cricket, i hear good things about them, but like you know, anything that is too good to be true is probably so, so when i called their phone number to inquire about service and i asked pointed question.

The sales guy assured me on all fronts, and signed me up. I informed them that 6 of my family are done with their contracts with other phone company, so treat me well bcos 6 people are relying on the experience. So lets start with the free "NEW" phone the guy said i was getting... And also fact that my "service" would start on day i activated the phone not that day he was signing me up. So i signed up that day, and the shipping took 9 days to show up, and bcos i was busy, went to fedex, picked package, and unlike other phone companies, cricket does a horrible job of explaining to you how to activate.

It took 2weeks to activate finally, and then i was already pissed off bcos the phone was refurbished, and it wasn't working right. U use phone for 4mins, temperature gets up to 170degrees, the networking was bad calls drop after like 3mins, so connection to cricket themselves to activate was a pain, and there is no way of reaching customer service if u aren't signed up already... So u can imagine the mood when i calld them. I was nice nevertheless, but got terrible customer service. I called cricket more than 30times in the first week, they got pissed at me for calling and disconnected me. I didn't know, bcos all i did with stupid phone was text, n they said delivered. I calld my regular cell phone company and retained my number, and that is another thing... Cricket sales guy had said my new cricket phone was going to be my regular phone number which i gave him but i got new tucson #... Which turns out to be wonderful since i kept my regular phone number... So i found out they disconnectd me, i went to the cricket store by 28th str and bell, that young girl said she couldnt help me... To just toss the phone and since its not contract i won't get billed. I was not satisfied, went to the one at greenway and 48th str, got another cricket phone which was supposed to be wonderful. Its actually better than the crap phone they sent originally, and i paid for this 2nd phone.
First month is supposed to be free, but i lost 2weeks bcos they started counting from date i calld sales guy, not when i signed up.

I can't use phone inside my house, at work, school, family's house. So i decided to cancel. I called them 6times to cancel, they always hung up on me. I decided to wait for 2wks, on last day of contract call again to try to have them cancel then, with threats i'm not going to play that game. Mistake i made was i signed up for their bill pay, so hello... 5days before, they debited my credit card. I was incensed. I called, spoke to 4people, 2 said if i cancelled b4 billing date i would get refund, bcos i was threatining to sue, 2 said they don't give refunds. They have all this on file. So last date rolls around i calld to cancel, got hung up on 4 times, and each time it was a fight that i won't get a refund.
It is company policy not to issue refund, and they never informed me, and then they had already charged my credit card July's bill while still in June (june 29/30, it was a monday), and they won't refund... We fought on the phone, got a supervisor, who said i should use service, be removed from automatic bill pay so they won't touch my credit card again, then cancel in july b4 august bill is due. So i did that, before july billing cycle began.
So now, once july began, they have disconnected me from customer service, once i call them, they take my info (zip code and date of birht), they say cust service is busy helping other customers, that i should go to the web n help myself... Like seriously.

The amount of calls i've made to cancel the service is like 12 now, but each time they hung up on me, won't cancel, charge my credit card 5days b4 billing cycle even starts. This is in arizona, phoneix. So now i plan to write their corporate body to cancel. This is worse than a contract bcos you know the penalty. But there there is possibility of billing to continue endlessly. They don't keep tot heir words, nd give crap service. Then they disconnect customers at will. I suggest someone starts a class action suit against them.

I hope clark howard learns about this and stop advising people on switching to cricket. If you are to use them, make sure they don't get your regular credit card. Use a prepaid bcos they require a credit card to activate, so they can keep sucking you forever.
