We signed a contract with Deck Works to clean & restore our deck. These services were performed on 5/8/09 (cleaning) & 5/20/09 (restoration). We are not satisfied with the services received. The following are issues still unresolved:
1 - Bird droppings fell on the deck during the time period between when the cleaning and the restoration services occurred. These were not removed before the weatherproofing product (Behr Wood Finish) was applied to the deck.
2 - There are several areas that have dried drip marks where the Behr product was applied. These marks did not exist prior to Deck Works service. These areas include the vertical railing spindles, the band/rim joists, and the main center step.
Our concerns were communicated to Deck Works the weekend of May 30th/31st (several calls were placed to Deck Works messaging service between the 20th & 30th). Deck Works stated they would try to come onsite the week of June 1st to resolve our issues.
Deck Works did not perform any corrective actions the week of June 1st nor did they contact us to convey a new estimate when the work could be done.
As a result, a final message was left with Deck Works the morning of 6/8/09 asking for a return call by 5pm or a complaint would be filed.
As of June 14 no corrective actions have been taken by Deck Works. We are extremely unsatisfied with not only the work that was done but also the way in which our complaints have been handled. Unreturned phone calls and e-mails have been incredibly frustrating. We have been ignored and are left with a terrible looking deck.
We have filed a complaint through the Better Business Bureau and want to warn people in any way we can to stay away from this company.
