Very poor quality chair - repeatedly broke despite light home use - company refuses to honor warranty

I purchased a very expensive Bodybilt ergonomic chair in 2001. It came with a 10 year warranty. This chair was $1200 new and was built to order.

Despite being sold and priced as a professional quality product, this chair has been unable to withstand even occasional home use. The company used plastic mechanisms for the arms and back - both have broken repeatedly with very light use.

I am well within the warranty period and upon requesting service was informed that the company doesn't honor warranties of products sold before 2003.
