I was solicited by SRC Leads at work on november 18. They explained that a reply card was sent out to people in the area and that they replied if they were insterested in receiving more information about annuities. I agreed to try the leads mainly because I was promised by the saleswoman, renee, that there was a guaranteed refund if I made less than $4000 in commission off of my 333 leads within 90 days. I paid $500 for the leads and off I was to calling.
Immediately, I noticed that no one knew what I was even talking about when I mentioned an annuity reply card and receiving information on annuities. But then it became downright annoying. Fax numbers were everywhere. People informed me they were on a do not call list and hadn't sent in the card. (SRC claims their list is scrubbed).
I called the service line and they replaced the part of the list I used and gave me an 30 days to use the list and still be eligible for the refund.
Off I was to calling again. Now, I was angry. I asked some elderly lady for her supposed-45 year old husband. Her response was that he had passed away many years ago and was way older than 45. A few calls later, a guy I asked for was in prison. I would like someone to tell me how these people could have filled out a card to receive annuity material.
I continued to call the list because the contract said "refund after FULL USE of the list" and documented every call like was requested. All were bogus.
On March 13, I called to request my refund after booking 0 appointments and no one knowing what I was talking about. I was told I needed to send them the detailed list on the calls, as well as the contract and fill out the Refund Form. They said the form would be emailed to me. Because of changing employers, I no longer had the email they had on file, so I mentioned the new email for it to be sent to. Well I didn't get the form, so after a few days I emailed and stated that I had not yet gotten the form.
It took them 3 weeks and me complaining 3 times to get the form to request the refund sent to the correct email address, (requested on March 13, received on April 8). (I have kept all emails that were used in correspondence between me and the company throughout this process because this may in fact become a law suit).
I faxed that in, signed it on April 8. It stated that a 30 day processing period was necessary to wait to receive the check. I reaffirmed with the customer service supervisor via email that in fact 30 days from that date, April 8 I would have my check. I have in writing that "yes" I would have my check (on May 8th). I called around May 12th after I had not received the check. Melissa, the only customer service person I've ever spoken to there so I assume shes the only, said that she would contact accounting and I would have it by Thursday (yesterday) May 21st. Still no check for $475. I called again. Melissa explained that the accounting person was not going to be back until after the memorial day weekend, but that she would make sure I got the check.
I don't believe anything these people say. I am speaking to my lawyer regarding this especially since I have everything documented, however I am open to hearing from any other lawyer, since it looks like that will be the only way I will get my money back. And now it's more about making these scammers do what they promised than the money.
They shouldn't be allowed to do this to people. There are blogs everywhere with complaints about SRC Leads.
