TO EVERYONE FROM SCOUTS TO MODELS,
I worked for Wilhelmina Scouting Network for a short time, in that short period of time I learned what a scam trully was. Everyone from the scouts to the models are ripped off. They place the bar so high, in order for a scout to make any money, that almost no one stays for more then a week.
During that week you work 13 hour days, for no money, then you graduate. That basically means, they no longer need you since they allready got their week of free labor. Since they hired more scouts during your training, it doesn't matter if you quit because they allready have another set of scouts waiting to take your place. The models have the short end of the stick, they pay $995, then $19.95 / month to keep their picture on their website, for what?
Not one person has received any work in the fashion industry what-so-ever from this company! They drop names like flies and that is all they can do for you. That and give you a promotions job giving away free samples of gum at the local mall, or at Boston Market, they even tell their models to go to a casting for ABC's Extreme Makeover! I guess they are not model material after all acording to them.
They even go so far as to insult the kids who go there with their parents and saying they can be the poster child for birth control. Mind you, we are talking about 5 and 6 year old kids who are being insulted here. Here is the best part about them, they give you business cards with bogus names and send you reply letters with bogus names as well.
They have no clue, untill now, that they are soon going to be slapped with a lawsuit from the Attorney General with the help of one former scout. They will no longer be able to conduct business in the state of New York. God bless the US and f@#k WSN, may they burn in hell for scamming New Yorkers like we haven't been through enough already.
