!!! Warning!!! Do not shop at this store!!! The staff and management was very friendly and helpful at Demetrio's until they sold me a dress and took my money. From then on they became rude, disinterested, and incompetent. They took all my measurements to order my dress and bra and accessories. I live in Haines City, FL a good 60 miles from Tampa so I carefully scheduled my fittings and pick-ups with them. So after my first alteration fitting a month before my wedding day I asked when I could pick up my head piece because I needed to do a test run for my hair at the salon. They told me I could pick it up the next week. So I made a special trip the next week trusting them that it would be there and of course it was NOT there! They told me I could pick it up at my next fitting a week later. I called before I left this time and they assured me it was there for me to pick-up. IT WAS NOT EVEN ORDERED! They told me to take a store sample for my hair test. So my next trip to the shop was to pick-up my gown and all the accessories 3 days before the wedding. They told me everything was ready. HA! First of all my veil wasn't there! They said I did not order it (Have my paid receipt for the veil) and told me I could PAY FULL COST for one of the used store samples, none of which were my veil. I did not tolerate this and they gave me a new one, however it was not the one I ordered. They then told me I could not take my head piece because I forgot to bring back the store sample. I"VE SPENT OVER $1500 here?! And the only reason I had the damn thing in the first place was because of their screw up. They would not let me have it so I had to make a special trip the day before my wedding to pick it up. There was also no bra and had no record of my measurements to give me the correct size. BUT THAT"S NOT WHY I"M REPORTING THEM! So I get the dress home sealed in plastic and open it a few hours before I'm about to get ready for what's supposed to be the happiest day of my life and there was an 8" in tear in the tulle of the train of my dress! I was in tears and hysterical with panic but it was too late I was forced to wear the dress as is. After the ceremony when we tried to bussel the train we noticed that the alterations were done in a manner that actually caused the damage. They had cut an unreinforced slit in the tulle and sewn the bussel hook underneath so that you had to fish through the delicate tulle and then pull them through to hook them. Needless to say this inevitably caused the tear to get worse and we noticed that all of the hooks were done in this manner and also had tearing. As the reception went on the hole in the dress grew to the size of a person. We immediatelty called the manager Kathleen after we got back from our honeymoon. Having to deal with the woman alone is enough reason not to shop here. She told us to bring the dress in for her to look at it. We were told that it was our word against theirs and there was nothing she could do for us. She said we signed paperwork that stated we accepted the dress as is. We have all our paperwork and do not have what she was talking about. So we asked them for a copy. Its been 2 months and they cannot generate a copy for us stating that they have to make a request to New York corporate?! Our wedding was on March 2!? They don't keep any recent files in the office?! We then showed her the suspect alterations. She admitted that she did not understand why they were done that way and offered us the amout of the alterations. We told her wether there was paperwork that we signed or not, their alterations were wrong and caused the damage. Why wouldn't we be compensated for a damaged dress? Kathleen will not return our calls (her brilliant staff probably cannot figure out how to take a message) and has not been able to give us a copy of this mysterious paperwork that's in NY. We are now demanding full compensation for the wedding gown and the alterations. Maria Tampa, Florida
