My wedding is in 10 days and I don't have a wedding dress! I was promised the dress would be in by April 1st and it arrived the day of my fitting appointment, only 2 weeks before the wedding and it came in 2 sizes too small. The dress was dirty and I suspect it was a sample gown off the rack.
When I called to schedule a fitting appointment in the middle of March, I was told my dress would be in next week and not to worry. They also told me the next available fitting appointment was May 13th, 6 days before my wedding. I convinced them they had to fit me in May 3rd, but even still that was very little time! They insisted they do this all the time, that I would be taken care of and I shouldn't worry about getting the alterations done in time.
When I called one business day before my fitting appointment the dress was still not in the store! They insisted they would get the dress in time. I drove 200 miles to the State College location (4 hours) to find a dress that was too small. They discovered the dress was too small when I was trying the dress on. Where is their quality control? Don't they check in the merchandise? Like I said, I suspect my dress was never ordered and they scrambled to get any size dress. I can't believe they let me spend a whole day in the car driving to a dress that didn't fit.
They are now unable to get my correct size and I now can not have my dream wedding gown. This is completely devastating and has caused much distress.
When I purchased the dress in September I was told if I pay in full they would give me a discount and waive the rush fee. They told me it takes 9 months to get a dress in. I called the headquarters of the dress manufacturer and it only takes 3 months to get a dress. There was never a rush fee, they lied to me!
I have spent the week looking at back up dresses. I have lost wages from work, I've incurred long distance phone charges, lost automobile expenses, and not to mention valuable time.
There is no excuse for this situation. They are a crooked company!
