I was employed at Seaboard Transport, Inc. Thinking there was alot of work to keep me busy. First day was sent out to pick up empty trailer. Then was stuck the whole wk. End with no load. I brought it to Mary's attention. Her attitude changed. I told her that this was not going to work, to sit out here all wk. End and not make any money.
She told me "So you want to quit, just take your signs off now". I said I didn't want to quit. Kept me on short runs where I couldn't make any money where she kept the rest of the Spanish drivers. She would not let me run 48 states which I am licensed to do. I was going to quit after working 7 wks. Two of those were without pay. Was dispatched Friday, Sat., Mon., & Tue.
Delivered my load on Tue. Morning in Vernon, Tx. And I sent a message to dispatch that I had arrived at receiver waiting to unload. I also sent my hours available today which is Tue. About 5 am. Which were 6 hrs. Left to drive. I was sent a message 10 am. To pick up a load in Guymon, OK. Which is 4 1/2 hrs. Away from where I was. The message said pick up load at Seaboard on Wed. & deliver Friday in Phoenix.
So I headed back to Guymon to quit which was Tue. Evening. Told Mary I was quitting and couldn't make any money here. She asked me if I had talked to dispatch and I said no. She said they had me under a load today and I said I had already delivered it. She said was I refusing a load? I said no, I don't have the hours to run another load. She became irate and saying that I had refused the load and I said I thought this was non-forced dispatch.
She yelled at me from behind her desk to get out of her face. She didn't want to see my face ever again. Every girl in that office heard her yelling. I would call that unprofessional and rude. I guess she had expected me to stay there and loose everything I own. I have been driving a truck for 38 yrs. And she is the only one to ever put anything negative on my Dac.
