Professional Water Systems completely mislead me about the state of my radon machine. I called on a Sunday night and they sent a person to my home to asses and fix my machine the next morning. The person shows and then doesn't even know how to turn off the machine, I had to show him. He then shakes some tubes and claim the system is old and out-of-date (It is only about 6 years old). He then states that the pumps are not working and that it is best if I purchase a new machine (Estimated price $6000-$9000). He said that he will make an estimate for me. I actually think that the "technician" who showed up was a sales person. Which makes sense since when he showed up with no tools.
I told him I would need to get another opinion / estimate since it was a large purchase.
Then next day I had another local company send a technician to take a look. Within 10 minutes he had the radon machine working. I was dearly grateful with the technician because I was am not the "jack hand fix it type". Such a nice fellow too. He explained that things are very slow with the way the economy is and some companies are just lying to get service revenue up. It good to know that there are still some honest people out there.
The next day, I receive a call from Professional Water Systems with the quote (about $8000). I explained that the machine was working with the help of another company. Angrily, the person said I should expect a bill in the mail for their services.
Needless to say, I am not paying the bill. Its not the point of paying $100 dollars. They call it a "service call" for someone to come to your home, (without any tools) and pitch that it will cost thousand to fix a hundred dollar problem. I have called to speak with the owner with now returned calls. Just more invoices.
