I was recently looking for a particular item, so I pulled up wal marts web site to see if they carried this item. Their web page showed that the item was available to order on line and was also available in stores, the price listed was 48.97, I sent my daughter to the store to purchase the item and when the cashier rang it up the price was 63.97, needless to say I didnt send enough money, when my daughter came home and told me she didnt have enough money to buy the item, I then went to wal mart myself.
I told the cashier that the price on line shows the item is ony 48.97 and was wondering why they were charging 12.00 more, the cashiers reply was this "the online prices are always cheaper than in the store, it is to encourage ppl to buy online" my response was this "then you should put on your online adds that in store prices ARE higher, this is false advertisement" all I got was "would you like to speak with a manager" needless to say I got the same reply from the store manager. No where on wal marts online adds does it state that prices vary from online purchases to instore purchases.
Unfortunately I am from a small town and we only have wal mart and k mart to choose from, kmart will be getting more of my businesses even if there prices are slightly highe
