Qwest/Qwest Wireless
Qwest Wireless ripoff Company who victimized, abused & mistreated many consumers Minneapolis St. Paul

I was a Qwest customer for years without any problems (that I was aware of)! When my husband and I got married and we moved, all the bills went into his name. From that point on Qwest has been a NIGHTMARE for my family.

First, we had multiple problems with initial service and they kept Lying and saying it was the wiring in the house (although the previous owners lived there for 14 years and never had a problem.

They said they had to make multiple service calls to fix/rewire the phone lines. They tried to charge us for service calls because they Lied and said that we did not sign up for "line backer" service to prevent charges for service calls when we ordered the phone service to begin with. Finally a 3rd tech came out and said the only thing wrong was that the line that entered the house had been "Cut" down in our basement. It took him all of 5 minutes to figure that out and fix it where as the other 2 techs spent about 1.5 hrs each outside with their trucks in the alley and never even went down in the basement at all.

Then my husband ordered cellphones/wireless service from Qwest. We had a shared plan and all calls between the 2 phones were to be "free" but all our minutes were being used up calling each other and then we were charged excessive amounts of money because we were "over our shared mintues" when we called other people.

With all these problems I was getting "fed up" with Qwest but my husband, being a Christian/GOD fearing man, had a greater measure of faith in their company than I. So he called and ordered a home intercom system from Qwest. This was our biggest mistake yet!!! When we received the original order it was incomplete and 1 or the 3 phones he ordered was missing. He immediately called and told them and they stated that they would send the other phone immediately.

3 months later we still had not received the other phone. And within that time we had made @ 25 calls to the qwest company because the phones that we did receive did not work correctly.

Finally the package arrived and it contained not one phone but a completly new order of 3 phones and none of them worked right either. Now we had 5 non-working Qwest phones and we were still using the cordless phone we had had for 5 years. They continued to charge monthly for phones although I contacted them and stated that they did not work. I called and demanded return shipping labels for all 5 phones and finally received them 96 days after they stated they would put them in the mail the next day.
In the mean time, while I waited for shipping labels, Qwest decided to disconnect our wireless service and sent us a bill for $1043 for wireless sevice/roaming charges and "early disconnection" fees.

It took me 35 days to get our cellphones turned back on and get the bill straightened out. Our actual bill ended up being $78.00 and that included the $59.99 month fee for shared service.

Through all this we also had Qwest internet service and were charged for 60 days of service when we could not even log-on because they were having technical problems with MSN in our area and service was unavailable.
Now, with all this you would think that when the labels arrived and I shipped them that would be the end of our NIGHTMARES with Qwest. HELL NO!!! I shipped all 5 phones back to the and even paid $10.00 extra to have UPS pick them up at our house.

Well Qwest lied and said that I did not return all the phones! They said I only returned 4 of the 5 phones. On top of that I was told that charges for all the phones would continue to be billed to us and then be credited back to us each month. But the amounts did not cancel each other out because they were crediting back significantly less than they were charging.

Needless to say that was the "straw that broke the camel's back" and my husband disconnected all service with Qwest and signed up with AT&T Broadband for phone service. That was a year ago and we are still disputing charges with Qwest. They say we stll owe them $748.00.
I suggest that all consumers be very careful when dealing with Qwest and read your bills completely.
