In July I called and cancelled my Directv services. I received a statement dated 08/29/08 showing a Credit Balance of -$78.44. After calling to request my refund, I received another statement was received in October dated 09/29/08 showing Credit Balance -$30.49, with charges for 07/02 $3.99,10/11 $10.99,10/13 10.99,10/15 $10.99,10/17 $10.99.
I then called 10/24/ disputing these charges. I explained that we never ordered Pay per view movies, and questioned the fact that they waited until I terminated services to issues these charges. The agent promised to expedite the refund. I called again, and was told that a check in the amount of $30.49 was mailed to me. I once again refuted the charges, and told them that I will not cash that check, as my refund due is $78.44.
December 12 I called and spoke with their agent who after confering with her supervisor told me the charges were valid, and that they were stored on the receivers from 2007. I once again explained that my household consist of my husband and I, and a toddler and we have never watched a PPV movie. We have never watched Adult Movies, nor ordered any PPV.
I also again explained that we had even placed security codes on the boxes so that no visitors could acess PPV. After requesting the names of these movies, the agent said she could not give me the names for 4 of the movies because they are Adult Movies. I also requested the times, and was not given that information.in addition, Laura claimed the charges were from 2007.
I know beyond a doubt that those charge are false. We never paid for a PPV because we never watched PPV. I never had billing problems until I cancelled service. They refuse to refund my money. Anyone who knows my family would testify that we would never watch Adult Movies.
I am willing to stand up in a court of law concerning this issue. This is a ripoff. I guess that is the penalty people get for cancelling services. Consumers must be aware of this unethical practice by Directv. Someone in authority must stop this company from robbing innocent consumers.
