Our family has had quite a run of bad luck but Star Body definitely made it all worse. A little history: Over the last five years, we lost one of my sons, my father, and my ex-husband's mother, our dog and two cats, all of whom meant a lot to our family. We all have emotional trauma but we are getting by. We are a low-income family and I am attending school full-time. Some time ago, my 19 year old son, who is homeless, traded his Camaro for a Honda Accord that runs, but forgot to get it registered. He recently ran out of gas. Before he could make it back to the car with his gas, Star Body Works had towed it and impounded it. He was supposed to pay 300 dollars to get it out. He had a blanket and jacket in the car but they refused to give it to him because the car was not registered in his name. Unfortunately, the blanket belonged to my son (his brother) who died, so it carries a heavy sentimental value.in frustration, he refused to leave until he got it, so they had him arrested. He spent a night, a day and part of another evening in jail. When he was released, he was stranded with more fines, with no home and now even without a car. He has no phone. He is not allowed on the property at Star now, so he can't take care of any of this. He just got a job but he won't be able to get to it, now. The title is in the car. They will not give us the title to get the car registered, our blanket, or the jacket. Now they want 900 dollars for the car and it goes up more every day. I have tried talking to them several times, but they just don't care. These people do not deserve their business, they have no compassion whatsoever. I did not know it was legal to impound a car because a person ran out of gas. It is quite obvious the car was not stolen, they would have had word of it by now. I will never do business with this company in the future and I encourage others to avoid this business like the horrible plague that they are.
