I just want to briefly comment on my move through nationwide moving services. I found them on a website called moverreviews and they had so many great reviews so I gave them a call and spoke to a woman named christy and she was quite pleasant over the phone and gave me an incredibly cheap quote so obviously I went through them. I got moving bids from close to 10 other companies all of which were a decent amount higher but again they were cheap and they were professional and had great ratings so I threw caution to the wind. Now, my items were not held hostage like some of these other comments on some companies which was good but everything else was a mess. I am a patient and understanding person so I realize that things do happen and on a move long distance move so when they missed my pick-up I was understanding and pretty calm about it. They had a mover assigned to me named Jerry who seemed nice enough but the lady from the company that would call me named cindy was a complete mess and could not get her story straight and was definately not the brightest of the bunch. With that said, they scheduled me for a pick-up 3 days later than I wanted due to "mechanical" problems. Fine I could live with that because they told me I would be delivered within 3 days. Well, 5 days later here comes Jerry and his helper in a old beat up truck with a trailer. Whatever, I could also live with that. They were nice and did a pretty good job packing my items up but then he told me they had other pick-ups to do and a few deliveried and I would probably be delivered around a week or so later. When i told him that cindy said 3 days later he said, well cindy isn't driving the truck so I'll do my best. Fine what could I do? I asked him for the weight tickets I was told they would have and he said"we didn't weight the truck yet" o. K this was getting ridiculous so I called 2 days later to find out my balance and again he said he didn't know the weight yet but would know it that afternoon and would call me. I never recieved that call and I was starting to become uneasy. I called again the next day and I was shocked when he told me my weight was nearly double the estimated weight. When I set up the move with Christy she told me they like to overestimate so the final weight would actually be less. Now I was livid. They arrived 9 days later (6 days later than cindy promised) and I did have several items damaged including my mattress was ruined due to a leak in the truck so many items had water damage and it was a brand new $1,500 mattress. When I called and was told I would only get. 60 per lb. For a whopping $45.00 I really felt like crap and feel that the whole move was a sham. I wrote a review on the reffering website and they took it off for what reason I do not know why but am sure that there has to be much more that were taken off. I really think this company is dishonest and just plain old bad. If I ever move again I will be sure not to use this company and people should definately not fall for the cheapest quote as mine was originally $1935.00 and in the end I wound up paying $2,800.00 and had to purchase another $1,500.00 mattress.
