Refusing to refund a credit due after I cancelled service

On June 2 my wife passed away and I chose to cancel our Direct TV subscription since it was all trash on 96 channels anyway. Direct TV accepted the request to cancel and advised me that I was due a credit refund in the amount of $63.02.

I was advised that a check made payable to my late wife would arrive in 60 days and I could simply deposit it into our joint account.

Now it is November and after 6 long months of repeated calls to DTV, a list of excuses and passing the buck I still am waiting to receive this check. I am preparing to get a fax number from DTV and simply send this long story and my request to them on their fax machine every 15 minutes each day until I get my refund.

I figure that by the end of the month if I have not been given satisfaction, I will at least have had my payback by using up their paper and toner at a cost equal to my unreceived refund.

Large corporations are generally sloppy and prone to dissapoint people since they deal with so many situations each day, but when something falls through the cracks like this situation has, it is clearly time to seek a little payback.
