My wife and I were originally members of Warrendale Community Credit Union when one morning we found out they sold it to Community Choice Credit Union. After 18 years of banking with both, which includes one new vehicle, three credit cards maxed out beyond 12,000.00 and paid back with all the interest plus the money they made through our money in our savings account over all those years. 5 months ago my wife and I went through credit counseling because we were within 28 days of the dumpster being placed in front of our home. We almost lost our home but were able to do a payment modification to save it. Several weeks later we received a letter from this credit union stating we could no longer have our Visa card because we had refinanced our home. I found out through an employee that the reason they would not allow us the Visa card was because our credit score was 620. We had been paying ontime after the credit counseling also. I deposited my check as usual 4 weeks ago (I get paid bi-weekly) when they opened that morning. That afternoon I found out they took a payment from our checking account without authorization, and made a payment on our visa bill. If they had done that a week later, I would have found myself in default of the modification and possibly lost our home. We called only to get vague excuses then a semi formal letter stating they had the right to do what they did. We never gave them permission or anyone else for that matter to take money from our account. We still have the account open but only to pay the balance of our Visa account. They like other financial institutions I have read about all over the United States stoled the money from our checking account.
