I received an email for telemarketing services offering an unbelievably great deal.
PAY PER SALE:
They would call on a list of 5000 people for me for free for 30 days. They would warm transfer calls to me or if I wasn't available they would email me a mini application for me to follow up later. The cost per transfer would be $50 (reduced from their usual $100) and only payable if I closed the deal. I was told that my campaign would be tailored to my liking with scripts that I chose and edited. I would have 5 of their telemarketers calling on my list and they would have a minimum quota of 15 transfers each per week. Meaning I would get a minimum transfer amount of 75 per week. I was told that I needed to close at least 30 deals per month in order for them to continue doing business with me; otherwise it would not be profitable to them.
The only thing they asked for was that I pay for a list at 0.15 cents per contact with a minimum list purchase amount of 5000 contacts. This would cost $750 for the list. At first I was hesitant but then I got sold on the idea that they needed to buy the list for their telemarketers to call. I forked over the $750 and I never heard from them again. I became skeptical when they said that I can only pay via check by phone and that they did not accept credit cards... I figured out to late that they do this because you (meaning me and you) can not dispute a "draw" from your checking account with your bank. You can file for a "no service rendered" claim if you use a Check Card or Credit Card.
I faxed over my check and was sold by Brandy Casey. She has a company email and a Live email address.
After I paid and the money was withdrawn from my account they sent me some very cheesy scripts for me to edit and approve. These were sent to me by Dei Makenna who has an msn email not a company email.
Then I got transferred to a so called "project manager" by the name of Christina (no last name) who has a 714 area code phone number but claims that she is Boston, Mas. And has a yahoo email not a company email.
Christina claimed that she was waiting for my list to be sent to her for over a month. After I called her, Brandy, Dei and left as many messages and emails that I could she finally emailed me back and sent me a recycled list. The list was made out to another person at another company. I called them many times and have been promised that this list is not recycled and that they are working on my campaign.
According to Christina whom I spoke to over 2 weeks ago they are actively calling on my list; however I have not received one transfer, one lead, or one anything.
Do not do business with above the rest telemarketing!!! They will only steal your hard earned money.
Be wary of another company called Rock Solid Prospects by Catherine Seltzer (also out of Boston, Mas.). I have been receiving emails from them offering the exact same deals that Above The Rest did. I haven't called or done business with them but I feel it's too much of a coincidence and worth mentioning.
If anyone is doing a class action; contact me. I'd love to help take these guys down.
