I have used Last Mile Moving solution twice for different moves in the Denver Metro Area. The first move was in May from Boulder to Denver and went great. The movers were quick and professional with only one incident occuring which was a plastic chair's leg broke during the move. However, the chair costs around $10 and I was reimbursed by the movers. They took around 2 hours to move a One Bedroom One Bath Apartment. As such I decided to use them again. Well I was VERY wrong.
When I decided to move again I actually called around to other companies to see what they were all offering. The rate which all of them quoted was a 2 man crew with one truck for $89/hr. When I called Last Mile I was quoted a three man crew with one truck for $89/hr, so I decided since the last move went pretty well that I would go ahead and use Last Mile for this move.
Things started to go wrong when I didn't receive a confirmation for the move and rate as I had previously so I had to call multiple times to confirm the move and it was only the week of that I received a response and verbal confirmation for the move. The day of the move I was told that the crew would be there at 8, then 9 and around 9:30 they should up. They spent quite a bit of time walking around determining what they would move rather than moving it. They would take small loads down, and when I mean small I mean like one box when I was carrying two or three.
Once the truck was all loaded, I headed over to the apartment and asked if they needed to follow. They said that all they needed was directions and they would be right behind me. I arrived at my apartment 20 minutes later and waited for the truck, and waited and waited. Close to an hour later the finally showed up and told me that my directions were bad when the were in fact very simple and other people had followed them without any problems.
They started unloading the truck but they took their sweet time. They even paused to look at my layout of my furniture to tell me where I should move stuff instead of continuing to unload. I offered them each a water since it was fairly hot outside. Well that was probably a mistake as they took that as to mean they could have any beverage out of my fridge. They helped themselves to energy drinks and bottled water, again instead of unloading the truck.By the time the truck was empty they tried to further the time by moving random stuff until I had to let them know that it was time to go. The head of the crew then tried to tell me that I would be charged for stuff that had not been mentioned to me before like the time it would take for them to get back to shop, etc. I told him that I would not be charged for that. The move ended up taking 5 hours!!! It had taken two hours to move the exact same stuff previously.
And to top it all off, around 3 hours after they had left and I was getting something to eat, I recieved a call from their boss asking if they were still at the job. THREE HOURS LATER.
This company is shady and more than that the workers that they hire are shady and try to milk your move for everything.instead of being efficient quality movers, they took too much time, made too many excuses and tried to get me to pay for stuff that was not part of the deal. Plus I HAD to pay in cash which always makes me nervous.
Despite the fact that their offer appeared better, it really wasn't. It was a good company in May but now, it standards of business have really fallen. Trust me choose a different moving company. There is a reason their offer is better and that is to get the job then they screw you the day of.
Last Mile Moving is a joke and should be put out of business.
