Do not use UPS insurance. UPS is deceptive with their policy and refuse to work with you if you are the buyer or receiver of the package. I ordered an item on Ebay from an individual the other day. Part of the item was broken when it arrived to me. So, I filed a damaged claim with UPS to check the package and let me know if it was their fault or the shippers fault. A few days later a driver drives up and tells me that she has to take the package to the facility to inspect and that it was not her job to look at. Even though the status online stated that an individual would come out to inspect the item. I figured that the driver was just going to take it to the Meyhew, MS facility to check it out since the sticker/receipt she gave me stated that on it. Misleading to say the least.
So, I was ok with that because then "I", the buyer, the person who paid for the item, still had control over where it was... Or so I thought. Low and behold they ship it back to WI, to the shipper. That was "my" stuff they took to him and just gave it back to him after they decided not to honor their insurance policy... If they even looked at it in the first place. Now I'm stuck with half my order not only damaged, but now it is in another state with the shipper/seller, at his house. How the hell do I know if he's going to send it back to me. At least I could have gotten it fixed or something. I could have even used the dish for something other than hughesnet service. I could have taken the lnb, which was broken, off and use the dish for aiming my EVDO service.
Anyway, never use UPS insurance... For that matter, never use UPS. Priority Mail is much cheaper, much better, and don't break everything they touch like UPS does.
