My problem with J & O Fireplaces began about Feb when I contaced them because there was a problem with the auger of my pellet stove which I purchased from J & O apprx seven years ago, and have had no prior problems with the stove until this bad experience in February, at which time I wanted J & O to repair the auger.
A serviceman (Rich Holland) arrived and began to perform unrequested service by cleaning an already cleaned stove and attempting to explain to me why he couldnt repair the auger because in his opinion the stove was somehow obsolete due to his unknowledgabillity of this perticular unit.
During his cleaning process this guy did something to the damper air intake lever and could not return it to its original postion and did not bother to mention it. He stated he would however contact me on the still unrepaired auger unit the following day, which he never did.
Fast forward eight months, and at the first chill I realized that J & O still had not contacted me to repair my stove, so I contacted them. While I tried to explain about the air intake lever having been broken in the "open" postion by there serviceman, that apparently did not know what he was doing, I was told that I was "stupid" because I did not know the proper names of the stoves parts in question and that I should not have called them if I didnt know the names. I was also told to "go back and watch the QVC channel", The person on the phone was extremely rude and arrogant, he was by no means helpfull or polite and I was shocked by this persons demeanor and that he was employed by J & O. He did however state that he would send out a repaiman that week at no charge, and screamed "No Charge" and then very politely hung up the phone.
Needless to say I've had to contact another repair service to fix the air intake lever that the J & O serviceman broke.
