In mid October2 I was phoned by Royal StarBenifits for approval of a Mastercard with credit up to $4,000, all I had to do was pay a one time fee of $250.
I accepted, big mistake! When I tried to call them to notify them that the funds would not be in the account and change the date of processing, I found the gave me the wrong number. It should have been my first clue!
After three days of trying to get the correct number I finally made contact with them, but it was to late they had already took the funds out. When I told them I was given the wrong number by 2 digits they said it was not htey're fault I wrote it down wrong and they would not be responsile for reimbursing the fee or the overdrafts that they cuased.
It then took until the beginning of Dec. 2002 to recive my package that was to only take 2-3 weeks to arrive.inside I found a form to sign and return to my card instead of a card. On the 9th of December I mailed the signed form and continued to wait impaitently for the card that was to take two weeks to arrive.
Being layed off during the holidays made me more impatcient to get the card so my children would have christmas, Ibegan calling almost daily.
In the beginning of Jan. 2003 I called again to have them tell me it was shipped and would be there by the end of the week. The end of the week c ame, no card. The following Monday called a gain and was told that there eas a delay, but it was being shipped that week.
Today I called the toll free number only to hear a recording that there offive is closed and to be pacient, all packages are being shipped. Yeah right!
Now I am filling a writen complaint with consmuer protection and trying to reach anyone I can to keep others from falling for their "rip-off".
