Off craigslist.org I applied for an legal admin job and I was contacted by integral resources. I later found out this is not a law firm but an agency that works as a recruiter... I guess.
I was asked on the phone about my computer skills which I claimed were very good. Once there I was given a grammar test, Microsoft Word Test, and Typing test.
All together the tests took an hour to complete - the MS word one taking 40 min. The scores came up automatically. Near perfect grammar, 75% on MS Word (I can't insert a symbol, very odd???), and 58 WPM with 1 error on their most uncomfortable keyboard.
After that hour I was told someone would be right with me... But i was kept waiting for 1 hour. There was nobody else there and I was on time for my appointment at Integral Resources. So I sat on their couch and twiddled my thumbs like a moron for 1 hour. This was unprofessional, rude, indecent, and above all insulting to any human being with half a brain cell.
Finally, after my wasted hour I was called into the office to discuss my results. My grammar test was great, however, their minimum was 80% on MS Word and 60 WPM. This was highly insulting as their MS Word test was clearly flawed (the comp froze on me several times) and the 2 WPM thing is highly insulting.
If this was truly the case why keep me sitting for 1 hour if the results came up instantly? Additionally, their tests contained bugs as I know almost every function in Word and type at least 65 WPM at my newer home computer.
Overall, I was highly frustrated at my experience at Integral Resources as they came off very unprofessionally in their service and insane requirements. Does my near perfect grammar, patience waiting for 1 hour, pleasant demeanor, and other experience just get thrown out the window over 2 WPM... Or was it something else: race, creed, height, suit color, etc.
