I am a litigation paralegal, and must serve individuals with lawsuits.in an effort to locate difficult defendants, I must perform people searches. I came across a service that Clickbank offered, i.E. Court Registry.org. (My previous searches have cost a minimum of $80.00, and that's only for a "bare bones" search.) Their website claimed that a VERY thorough search could be performed for $39.95. That is their "premium" and "unlimited" search.
After completing their minimum registration and accepting my debit card (which was my first mistake, I should have placed this on my AMEX credit card), only then was I notified that to perform a search of any civil, criminal, etc., records, would cost an additional $15.00 EACH. This is very misleading and downright criminal. You are not aware of this until after the charge has been placed. I have called my bank and we will be placing a dispute on this charge.
Additionally, I live in Florida and feel it is my obligation to notify our Attorney General's office in Tallahassee. If any attorney reading this is interested in discussing or initiating a class-action lawsuit, please contact me. Thank you.
