World Class Advertising seemed legit. They also go by WCA. But they have tons of job listings on every site. I thought I blew them away in the interview, but there were also a lot of people in the waiting room. The "owner" didn't interview me, his assistant did.
When I got invited back for the second round interview, they said it was an all day follow up interview. I was excited, but when I got there in my professional business attire, I was asked to drive in a 17 year old's car to a gas station in Waukegan and watch them try to sell waterless wash and wax car spray and accessories to unwilling customers at the gas station. They tried to make us memorize their pitch.
Then we went to lunch two at a time and they tried to explain the structure of the business to me. Everything he said made it sound like a pyramid scheme. Everyone gets a cut of your sale, mostly the office and the "owner".
Once you work this sales "floor" for awhile, they can't tell you how long for sure - since it varies for different people, then you can train people to do it - still working at the gas station. Once you do that for awhile you eventually get your own "office" and can pick your own "product". None of this explanation included definite time periods. None of it included an actual salary.
I wasted my time and effort, plus I had to stand around at a gas station in heat and eventual rain in my formal business wear.
