When I booked with World Wide Moving Systems they presented themselves as a company with expertise and excellent customer service. They use this to bait you in.
I was told that I would have my stuff within about a week, which I agreed to - all moving contracts state that they have 21 days to deliver your stuff. This is for liability purposes (i.E. Accidents, natural disasters, truck problems etc.) I was assured by the company that this is just a standard clause in moving contracts (which it is.) I have moved out of state twice and used other companies, and had the 21 day clause in my contract, and still have received my stuff within about a week.
All I want to know from this company is when they will deliver my stuff, and they will not answer that question!!!
They claim to be a large moving company, but are only 4 trucks, two owners, and their right hand woman who they will transfer you to when you have questions.
When you call for any questions about your move they will say "they are making the schedule, and will call you back." They won't.
They will transfer you from person to person, put you on speaker, and make you repeat your story, but they are all in the same room listening.
From what I gather my stuff is sitting in storage, but no one can share any information when this stuff will get here.
The owner shared today when I tried to just get a simple answer of WHEN my stuff was coming, that I needed to see a shrink and that I didn't understand the moving business. (Yes the owner of an actual business said this.)
When I was explaining to another worker on the phone I said that who I was speaking to was very ignorant, he then picked up the phone and began to scream at me that he heard everything on speaker, and how dare I call him ignorant!
I was told for my pick up in NYC I would be given 24 hours notice. They never called. I was concerned as I had to be out of my place as someone else was moving in. I kept calling and calling, but their office was closed.
The movers never showed up when they were supposed to. We weren't compensated for it. I received a call from the movers at 10:00 P.M. (they were scheduled for a pickup between 5:00-9:00) stating that they were lost and they didn't know when they would get there. They wanted me to go meet them, they told me they had no directions and no GPS. The driver also shared that he had not slept. I of course called the company, and expressed my displeasure. They expressed that if I was so unhappy that they wouldn't come get my stuff and would take my deposit. The man also said how dare I call him that he was with his children.
I ended up having to go meet the driver/movers at midnight and guide them through NYC. (This is not an easy task to do for someone with an 18 wheeler, but when I booked the move through them they assured me they could do a move out of NYC!) It was so late that the move had to be pushed back till the next day. I had to go find somewhere in NYC for the movers to park their truck. It took them about 7 and 1/2 hours to load up my studio apartment. It was a first floor apartment with about 25 feet from the door to the truck. (I also had all the boxes pushed into the foyer of the building for them.)
Now 8 days later I still have no stuff, and all I am asking is that give me some kind of idea of when my things will be delivered.instead I am told that they will hold my stuff hostage for 21 BUSINESS days.
I will be shocked if I even see it that soon.
They claim that they have 800 references on their website, these are basically just hand written notes that anyone could write.
Continue to search the internet and you will find more horror stories.
Please it is one thing to not have your stuff, but it is another to be treated so poorly from a company that you are paying.
Stay away from worldwide moving systems at all costs!!!
