No phone service then lies and excuses. Whittier California

I moved in to a new home on June 13. Because I work from home on the phone I gave Verizon two weeks notice of the move to ensure continued service with them.
On the 13th I picked up the phone and heard a dial tone and assumed all was well.
The morning of the 14th I tried to log into work but could not call out, no matter what number I tried. I spent the next three days on the phone with five supervisors and various employees. They all told me something different and refused to send someone out to check the lines. I bought new phones and cords as one told me it had to be my equipment, another admitted it was Verizon's fault but did not know exactly what was going on. Three supervisors told me they had put a work order in for an emergency and someone would be right there. When I called back an hour later, another person told me it had not even been written up!
Finally on the third day at 8 P.M. Someone in Florida found out what was wrong and fixed it from her office. Verizon had it all mixed up and my phone number and this location were not even hooked up in their system.
I almost lost my job over all of this.
Then twice while working the next week my phone went dead with a client on the line. I spent two days off work trying to get someone out to check the lines. They sent someone who did not even come in and reported "Yup, she has a dialtone!" then after I screamed and cried they sent someone else who discovered the wires were twisted in the outside box! Again, it was their fault.
When I got my bill two weeks later they had the nerve to charge me $45 to transfer my service. I called them and threatened them with pulling my service. Someone came on and gave me a $65 credit.
I have reported them to the FCC and written a letter to their corporate office describing the incredible run around and lies and mismanagement within their company.
Every month I have an issue with their billing department.
I missed five days of work due to their mess ups and am lucky I did not lose my job!
I am going to push for free phone service for six months to make up for the lost income or I am switching over to Charter Communications.
