Complaint / Review
Diamond Acres Kennel & Evonne Denney
I will join the crusade to stop this horrible "so-called" breede

I ran across these complaints online and it triggered a horrible nightmare I experienced with Diamond Acres Kennel and Evonne Denney four years ago. I too had terrible problems with this woman. I couldn't believe all of the complaints I read here. I thought I was the only one this happened to. It's too bad it's happened to all of you as well. Some of my issues were the exact same things that Benny from Baytown, Tx and Jennifer from Calif wrote.

In Aug I purchased a bulldog from this kennel. Like the others, Evonne sent me a picture of the puppy who looked about 8 weeks old. I had never spoken w/Evonne via phone - all contact was via email. I advised I would purchase the puppy and she quoted me a price of $1700. They lived in Grandview, Tx and I in Ft Worth, Tx (not terribly far away from each other). Evonne insisted her husband bring us the puppy and meet us half way in a PetsMart parking lot in Burleson, as he deilvers all the pups. Never met this woman face to face ever! He arrives and has no clue what's going on - not prepared at all! Had no contract, not purchase order agreement, pictures of parents (that I asked Evonne for and was told could get them), not even a receipt book. Her husband claimed he didn't know we would be purchasing the puppy. He thought he was just driving the puppy half way for us to see it? That should have raised a red flag for me. Anyway, next issue was the puppy's age. This puppy was not 8 weeks old as Evonne had described 2 days ago. More like 3 mos old! Having just lost my 1st bullie, I was going to purchase it anyway b/c Evonne assured me of the bloodlines and that the puppy was imported from Europe. I had her husband sign the back of a piece of paper showing I paid cash of $1700 with his signature since he had no receipt book?

After the 1st month, no papers so I started emailing Evonne and was told it would be about 5-6 months. Okay, but where was my contract and picture of the parents? I started asking about that b/c her husband had told me when we bought the dog that Evonne would send me the contract fot my signature. Fast forward about 6 months later and no papers, no contract, no parent pictures. I finally received a picture of the father (as Jennifer in Calif did), but never of the mother. I kept getting emails from Evonne stating "Ooh, I forgot to send it, I'll do it right now." Well, it is four years later and still nothing!

Two months after purchasing the bulldog, she contracted demodectic mange which is a genetic disease (just as Benny from Baytown, Tx advised his dog got). I took her to two vets and they both said it was genetic and that reputable breeders that become aware of this are suppose to immeditaly stop breeding the dogs with this in their bloodline. When I advised Evonne of this to get her help with vet costs, she was quite amused. She sent me numerous email responses with extremely sassy and sarcastic tones to them giving me her diagnosis and that she refused to take responsibility of this or notify the breeder to stop breeding as the vet had told us to do. She even stated in one email that it was my fault and that I must have traumatized the dog in some way! Oh my goodness! That was uncalled for - I am the biggest dog lover you will ever find! In fact, she said the vet was wrong - two vets were wrong? Hum!

Now, fast forward 10 mos later and my bulldog finally recovered, however, I was banned by the vet from breeding her b/c of the mange! Thanks Evonne, but you're breeder in Europe keeps on breeding, huh?
I wanted to fight tooth and nail back then, by my husband encouraged me to stop, feeling there was nothing we could do and we just chalked it up to unable to breed the dog as we had intended (I wouldn't do that to another person and possibly spread that mange - it was horrible!). We also just wrote off the fact that we would never receive a contract or pictures of the mother. I let Evonne beat me! But not anymore! After reading all of these complaints against her and experiencing deja vu, I'll stand with you all and fight. It makes me sick that all of you have encountered the same nightmare I did four years ago. I'm just sorry I let her win for four years.
And yes Evonne, many of us don't have time to sit here and write complaints about you, but if it saves one person from experiencing the terrible things you put us all through, it's worth 30 minutes of my time to write this.

And, you're guilty of nothing? HA! If you were such a reputable breeder, would you be responding with such nasty and stupid responses as you've done on this site? Your responses are childish and you can't even spell correctly! You sound like a kid daring someone to go up against you! It's easy to hide behind emails Evonne! You ask people why don't they email you or call you directly? Why should they. I tried for 6 months and you got to the point where you wouldn't even return my emails! You completely shut down and refused to respond. You had your chance. So now just continue to hide behind your silly email responses. Any why don't people give you their last name? Well, read the instructions on this site for filing a report. It tells you that you are only allowed to give a first name (try reading the guideline next time before you go spouting off again)!

Please feel free to include me in this fight against stopping this woman and Diamond Acres Kennel. I still have no contract and have a record of all of the nasty emails she set me until she finally stopped responding. She was in Grandview, Tx in 2004.

By the way, I also purchased a 2nd bulldog two weeks after the purchase from Evonne. I went in person to the breeder, saw the facilities, the parents of my dog, met both husband and wife, paid in cash, received my contract, a copy of the bloodline in a nice, professional folder, copy of a purchase order showing I paid for the dog and a receipt for my purchase. Two weeks later I received my papers to register the dog. It was a smooth and pleasant transaction. Unlike the horrible mightmare I experienced with Evonne and her eventually nasty attitude. Once she had my money, she cared about nothing else.in fact, I asked the breeder where I purchased my other bulldog if they had ever heard of Diamond Acres Kennel and the husband just frowned at me and said, "Well, I've heard of them, but not sure about them" By that time, I knew I was in for a long and bumpy ride with Evonne.

Evonne, you should be ashamed. I wouldn't trade my bulldog for the world, but with her health problems, I can never breed her! Your claim was you had them imported from Europe to keep a healthy bloodline. What a crock! There's nothing worse than a liar and that's exactly what you are! Hopefully, you will be stopped. However, I'm sure you'll pick up somewhere else under a different name and start all over again.
