Over the past months I have been contacted by numerous companies claiming to be able to issue me an unsecured mastercard or visa.
After many calls finially I agreed to the terms from a company called Royal Star Benefits. What was offered was a mastercard with 2000.00 for a fee of 250.00.
On 11-21-02 I received my benefits package enclosed in the package was a bunch of worthless BS and a activation card for a store value mastercard. I mailed the activation card out the same day via us postal priority mail. Since then I have called customer service repeatedly inquiry about my missing card.
On 11-12 I was told my card would arrive this week. Next week same story, next week same story. Finially on Friday 11-29 I called again told the rather rude person in customer service that I was assured my card would be here by 11-29 and again it has not arrived.
I then started researching this company and came accross this site it seems I am yet another victum of the United Financial corp. I have now issued a complaint with the BBB of St. Louis, and also here.
It is now my mission to help others so they do not finiacally ruin themselves as I have waiting on a credit card that will never arrive. Because of this company I am facing bankruptcy, sure it is 250.00 how is that possible? Let me explain expecting the card I was promised, with the 2000.00 limit I took all the money I usually used for bills for the month and all the money out of savings 5,000 in total and used it to put a down payment on a new automobile. Stupid stupid I know, I was thinking of purchasing a new automobile anyway and when the dealership apprasied my current vehicle it was not worth the loan amount. I was forced to either add the payoff the difference of the old loan and the appraised value of my old car or have it added to the new car loan.
So with taxes (another stupid move bought the car out of state so had to pay sales tax in my state) tags and higher insurance there you go 5000.00 down the drain. Being sure that the card was coming that was promised in order to meet my monthly obligations until the card arrived I proceeded to take out payday loans everywhere thinking when the card arrives I will pay off the payday loans total 1,400.00 worth of loans. For the past month each payday my checking account is debted 500.00. Just to pay the interest on these loans.

I hope I will be the last person who ever has to file a complaint about these companies. I know I have learned my lesson. Good luck to all of you.
