Master Card Rip off scam scum during the holidays

I received a call for an unsecured credit card from Bob of Centurion Financial Services. He told me in his sales pitch I would receive a credit card with a $2000 limit and a 0%APR until March of for a one time enrollment fee of $249.00, and I got ripped off.

After calling several times, leaving messages with no response, I finally got through to James Best in Champlain, NY, today. I told him I was not interested in the information 'benefits package' they had sent and I was still waiting for the Mastercard I was promised for my $249.00 payment in the middle of Oct. 2004.

He informed me they were a 'benefits' provider company and had no obligation to give me a Mastercard, I would have to go through the paperwork and pay the fee for a card, or write the company headquarters. When I told him that I did not authorize a benefits package, but it was for a credit card, he played the recording of me confirming my account information and acknowleding this was a one time charge from Centurion. There was nothing about what I was paying for on the recording.

So I then asked James what benefits I had received for my $249, and why in the world would I pay someone money like that for a credit card application I can get from anywhere. He did not know what I personally had received, so he could not say. After demanding my money back, and asking to speak with his supervisor, he told me he was the top guy, and I would have to write a complaint to the company, end of story.

Trying to protect myself from further damage, I called my bank to ask for a return of payment of the money, and stop any further withdrawals. They told me 1. They could not refund the money because it had been 64 days since the withdrawal and; 2. I would have to close my account and open a new one to prevent more money from being withdrawn by any of their alias companies or hundreds of others they give it out to!!!

We have contacted the BBB, FTC, and NY Att. Gen., also included will be the Champlain Post Master. We were told by the FTC to document everything about any calls, messages, letters, etc. And keep dates and contact persons also. Make sure to file complaints with all of these departments if you also feel you have been conned out of your money.

Don't get ripped off by these cons, they have no morals, and karma will provide it's own 'benefits package'.
