A-Evans Vacuum Cleaner Co, Evans Vacuum Cleaner Co Loyal Customer gets ripped off on Riccar Air Purifier and loses over $500.00

In January I went into the Evans store to buy a new Riccar vacuum cleaner. While I was in the store, I bought the vaccum cleaner and a Riccar Air Purifier. I purchased both items the same day and paid over $1100.00 on my credit card.

In the next couple of months following the initial sale of the Air Purifier unit, the unit stopped working. I tried to fix the problem as directed on the package. After trying to fix the problem myself, I followed up by calling the Evans company and telling them about the problems I was having. I took the unit back to the store before the 90 day warrenty had expired. I left the unit with them to have them take a look at it. During this time I received several phone calls from the dealer as well as the Riccar people promising me that they would do whatever they could to help me with this problem as I have been such a loyal customer. I had never had problems like this before, and I had never returned anything before.

In April, I received a call from the store asking me for the numbers on my receipt and my credit card. The man told me that he would be happy to give me another unit or refund my credit card. I told him that I would take the refund on my credit card. I explained to the store managers that during this time, my daughter was getting married and I was extremely busy. I felt confident they would handle this situation accordingly.in May, I went back up to the store to see that all had been taken care of and the man at the counter told me that "there was nothing wrong with this unit and he was not giving me any refund". He was very hateful! He also said " I should be glad it worked when it did". I was upset as I was told one thing and now another. I was then asked to leave the store while I was trying to explain the circumstances of this sale again. I left the store without resolution.

Now, after trying to work this situation out for several months, I feel Evans has ripped me off (over $500.00) and I also feel the store no longer cares about their customers.
