Comcast
Customer Service, cable service, Home phone service, internet

This all started when Comcast took over Time Warner. Time Warner we never had problems with, the phone worked wonderful, internet wasn't down all the time, and we had channels that I enjoyed. I did have comcast where I lived in Indiana, there were no problems to speak of. Since Comcast has taken over this area. The customer service people are a joke.

I have contacted them a number of times because they have 1) changed a few channels (now we get all kinds of channels to buy things or listen to preachers) This is not what I want to pay $137 a month for. 2) the internet "with power boost" are you kidding me? I can't even get to my internet half the time because it doesn't work. There are "power outages in your area, or they are doing some" Are you kidding me??? You are a huge provider and you took over a company here where I never had any problems. 3) Trying to talk on the phone is basically like (when it does work) sitting with your ear up to a radio. Or the person cant hear me because it cuts out. We just bought new phones and only when they took over Time Warner did we start experiencing this nonsense.

I have contacted them a number of times about these "interruptions" but last night did me in. I get the kids in bed, my husband is away, and I wanted to check my email. Well would you know it, there is an outage in my area. (Again??? This is way to frequent.) Now mind you, I have called before and the customer service alone are rude, disrespectful, and talk to me like I am the worst trash in the world. So last night I called them and got a wonderful guy named Phil. I told Phil this was a bunch of nonsense about how frequent the phone doesn't work, the internet is down and how terrible the reception to the tv is. (getting pixels and green color almost everyday is just silly) Phils attitude was bad (I really cant blame him because for almost a year and a half and about 50 phone calls later, I was not very nice) I stated to Phil " am I not the customer here? I pay an outrageous amount of money to be treated like I am some piece of crap.

Well this conversation went on for a few minutes (had to use my cell phone mind you because the phone was out) I told him I was done and to let me speak to his manager. He said he would not let me speak to anyone but him. So he refused to let me speak with anyone but him. (Thanks Phil) I call back a few minutes later and get another lady. At first she seemed like she was listening and I told her about my conversation with Phil and how poorly they treat their customers. She got snotty also. So for about 5 minutes I just let her have it. (Yes I know you get more when you act nice but I am paying them and after so many times of getting people here in Memphis that are so snotty I have had enough) I was in the middle of explaining how horrible this service is and that I have two kids here and I need a phone that works. I mean really come on any parents out there know that anything can happen anytime of the day and you may need to call 911. She stated "how are you calling me right now if your phone is not working", I have a cell phone. Then she stated that not having a home phone that works I should have no problem calling 911 if I needed to. Are you serious??? I pay your company 130 a month but as long as I have a cell phone its ok.

Before this, like I stated before, I had called a dozen plus times about the same problem. One guy named Chris talked to me like I didn't know what I was talking about when it came to the phone service. I got annoyed with his attitude and handed the cell phone off to my husband. My husband said he was very nice and explained that if our internet goes down then so does the phone. Then why am I paying for something that is supposed to have a battery in case the power goes out and its, I believe if I recall correctly, I will have a phone for 3 hours.

This has gone on and on. Now a few months ago we had about 6 people come here to see why we are experiencing this kind of nonsense with the internet, phone and cable. It took a seventh guy to come out here (he was a nice guy, not all are morons but they are few and far between) Come to find out our wire outside was bad and had water in the actual cable. He replaced it and said he couldn't believe how bad this had gotten and that the people who came out before should have caught this.

Then a few weeks ago I started having problems again. So the phone calls started again also. They sent another nice guy out who said that the wire was loose and tightened it up. He told us if we had a problem again that if someone came out and couldn't find a problem that we would be charged a service call fee. I couldn't believe this. He asked if there we anymore problems he needed to look into. I stated to him that yes when I use my home phone that it will cut out for no reason. (Try talking to a Dr. Or insurance company and they phone just goes dead)

I also told him that I can hear " Kimfm" a radio station here over my phone. Of course it doesn't happen all the time but when it does happen its like having my ear up to a radio. He went on to tell me that "older houses do that sometimes because of the cable and wires that were put into the house". My house is 8 years old this year. (in Indy, IN, where I lived before, we had comcast and never had any issues and the house was built in 1939)

Now on certain times when the phone would go dead and the internet would stop working. I would pick up the handy cell phone and call comcast. And I have to tell you that after hours here all our phone calls get transfered to Knoxville, Tn. Never once have I been treated like crap when I actually get to talk to one of these CS people but in conversations I have had with them I told them how horrible people in Memphis treat the customers. Do you know these people in Knoxville have told me that they hear that all the time about Memphis. Pretty sad when people who work there hear how horrible customers are treated here in Memphis.

Do you have to have a masters degree in being a ja to work here in Memphis for comcast? I am fed up here and have given them to many chances to straighten up. Time Warner please come back. Comcast really sucks. And frankly I am tired of being treated like a piece of garbage when I (and others) pay them. I just am at my wits end. I do not know what else to do.
