I was quoted a total of $175 to clean my 5x10 oriental rug. I told the man who picked up the rug that I had a coupon and wanted to use it three time before signing the receipt. He said that it would be applied after the cleaning process. My credit card was charged the full amount of $175. Upon trying to redeem the coupon they said the rug actually cost $350 dollars to clean and that the coupon was already applied. I have a hard copy of the receipt that I signed where it says NOWHERE anything about a $350 dollar cost or that a coupon being applied. I was told that it would still be applied.
This is false advertising. They are trying to make up a new cost out of thin air to leverage the coupon so I will have to pay full price. They then said that it costs $350 to cleans rugs in this area so I called three other places. They all charged around $150. The funny thing is that if you do deduct the 40% coupon from $350 it does not total $175. I guess Math is not their thing.
I decided to contact the vendor to see if I could resolve this. Upon trying to state my case, the business owner and worker yelled at me, called me a liar, and hung up on me several times. They would not answer any of my calls thereafter, and I do not know how/when I am getting my rug back. They had no explanation of why these NEW costs were not ever mentioned at the estimate, they simply kept calling me a liar. For what reason do I have to lie? I simply want the service that I paid for and the coupon applied, which is why I called their business in the first place. I truely wish I had not.
I would never have signed for this amount if I was not promised that the coupon would be deducted. The worker said that it was a hold. It is unbelievable that people can rip someone off like this and then treat them so disrespectfully when they try to get what is rightfully theirs. I am in the process of researching attorneys to sue this business because this is completely unethical and it is not legal in the United States the last time I checked.
I strongly caution anyone who deals with these people in the future because they are the liars, and they do not deserve to hold a business license if they are going to conduct business like that. I will do anything and everything I can to make an example out of these people. South Florida has a bad rap because of people like this and they will not steal my money and disrespect my girlfriend and I ever!
