I started going to this store after our move. I always use coupons for cigarettes, as it was convenient. I became suspicious when they refused to allow a coupon that expired on August 31 because the day was August 28th and I was informed "that did not give them enough time to send it in for refund." I gave him another coupon.
I purchased approximately 8 times before I finally asked for a receipt, as I began feeling that something was not right with what I was paying versus what I paid at other stores. When I got the receipt, I saw after the coupon was entered, a fee was deducted for each coupon; for the $5.00 coupon, a dollar was deducted, and for the $2.00 coupon. 50 cents was deducted. I asked the proprietor what this was for. He said on the back of the coupon, I (the consumer) was responsible for all taxes). I pointed out the sales tax was at the bottom of the receipt. He began acting like he could not speak English all of a sudden, and just kept shaking his head, saying 'no, no, this is different, you must pay fee.' I told him this was wrong and I was reporting him and he just lost a customer and left.
