When Placing an order on Northstyle.com I was signed up for Shopping Essentials subscription that cost me 9.95 / mo for 4 months before I caught it on my CC statement.
I was told by Northstyle I accepted these terms during a survey that pops up during their checkout process. So I must have missed unchecking some radio button somewhere.
I went back and checked my confirmation email and I did note that Shopping Essentials was listed in my emailed invoice. However, not knowing what Shopping Essentials was at the time this did not rouse suspicion at the time. I have recieved no other mail or offers from Shopping Essentials.
So four months later I'm out $40 and I have been forced to take this issue up with my bank to dispute the charges.
I am a webmaster for a large internet seller so I should have known a scam when I saw one. This points to the fact that wherever I signed up for this subscription (I still am not convinced I did) it is very tricky.
My advice is to take your business elsewhere, but if you have to have some item from northstyle, be VERY careful during the checkout process, lest you buy somthing you don't want.
