This company, NR & Associates, is a total rip off!
They called me a few months ago about renewing my Everyday with Rachel Ray Magazine subscription. They told me that it was expired and that I could renew it for a bonus rate because rates were going up due to processing costs, etc. Since I had recently moved and not gotten any magazines lately, I assumed it was expired. I agreed to renew and they verified my name and address. Then they wanted my credit card information. When I told them no, just bill me, they were quick to get off the phone. A few minutes later a "supervisor in the renewal department" called me back to verify that I renewed it and to get my credit card information. I again told them no, to bill me that I would not release my credit card info over the phone. She said okay then went on to tell me that by billing me that it doesn't guarantee the rates I was offered, etc. I then hung up on them.
The company called me (per caller id) just about everyday for a month or so but would never leave a message. When the phone calls stopped, the "Late Notice" began. Just about every week I would get one stating "First Notice" then "Second Notice" then "Third Notice" in the name and addess block so that the postman, etc could see that I had not paid a bill.
I sent the first and second notices back with CANCEL written on it. Then when I got the third notice I started calling an leaving a message on their not so professional voice mail.
Of course I never heard anything back stating it was cancelled, etc. Hopefully someday they will stop calling and sending me notices.
Please, stay away from this company! It is a complete rip off... They are out to steal your credit card or checking account information!!!
