Received collection notice for "past due" amount for renewal of subscription to Men's Health magazine that I had chosen not to renew. Our credit rating is excellent & I worry about the effect of this notice.
Men's Health assures me that they will correct this problem & notify North Shore that the subscription is cancelled & that I do not owe them money.
Men's Health advised that their policy requires that the customer return the renewal notice with "cancel" written on it be returned to them. I can't find this information on any of their renewal notices. And there are laws about individuals not being responsible for unsolicted merchandise.
Men's Health also is aware of the information on the internet about the rip off practices of North Shore & said they were sorry after I told them I was going to turn this in to the State of Iowa Consumer Fraud department.
