We live in a condo, ran by a HOA (Home Ownership Assoc). We called Direct TV, to see if it was possible to have there service.
Their professional came to our location to see if it was possible. Upon the professional showing up, I handed him our lease agreement. Which said you cannot attach anything to the exterior of the building!
Well I left the professional alone so he could assess the situation, while I attended to my 2year old son. About 10 minutes go by and I heard him drilling on the roof.
I ran out and asked him what he was doing, he then told me that this is the only way. And I asked him if he read the lease agreement I gave him. He said yes and this happens all the time and not to worry, besides it was already installed.
Needless to say a couple of months go by our roof was leaking! And the HOA came out to fix the roof. They then told me it was leaking because the professional did not seal his hole he drilled in the roof.
We then called Direct TV to come remove there stuff off the building. We set up three appointments in a 2 month period in which they never showed up. Charging us each time!
The fourth time Direct TV finally showed up! Two supervisors and on tech said that the professional should have not installed the equipment. And the professional who installed the equipment had been fired because he has now done this to numerous people.
So now, we had to write a letter to cancel service, so Direct TV wouldn't keep charging us. The first letter Direct Tv did not let us cancel. They charged us again! The second letter they then decided to release us from contract, because of one phrase "line of sight".
We thought it was all over! Until the next month, they decided to take $290 out of our account without any warning! That $290 is the total of what we would have paid if it was possible to keep Direct Tv through the contract. So why did we have to cancel the contract, if they were going to just take the money any how.
Because of all this now, we have bounced 2 checks. And my wife is about to lose her job at a credit union. We need help, I dont want nobody to ever get taking advantage of like this again!!!
