It appears NCO Financial is hiding under following names: Nextcard Payment Services and www.cardmemberservices.net
I am a user of Nextcard from 02, was never late and since August my payments (electronic payments from bank) do not reach Nextcard for several weeks! Even today (10/24/02), payment made on 9/30/02,24 days later is still not received (!!!)
Results are: Late fees and interest rate to the roof.
Check out latest (closing date 10/08/02) Nextcard (dead company long time ago) statement: Customer Service: PO Box 9229688, Norcross GA 30010 (fake address, extra 8 on the end of p/o box number and most likely your RRR letter with inquiry will bounce back, while you lost time)
How-to's:
1. DISPUTE all unathorized fees/charges (since July 10) in writing with Return Reciept Requested.
2. Wait for 30 days upon they received it. If no reply, send a friendly reminder with a VALIDATION request of debt.
3. Wait for 30 days, if silence again, dispute whole thing with all Credit Reporting Agencies. Have copies of all documents sent and good track of dates.
4. Make payments on time, do not stop! You must be clean!

Get a digital voice recorder ($50-60 or less) and call them. Mention that conversation is recorded, ask for company name, ID, full name (spelling works best) and authority level.
It appears NCO is looking for an "easy meal". Lets make it as hard as possible instead. If 600,000 or so ex Nextcard cardholders (800k-200k purchased by other bank) will address current problems with NCO, they will have to play by the rules!
Needs immideate attention of FDIC and WA/GA State regulators to NCO practices!
