United Parcel Service Of America - denies valid claims

UPS has proved that they can lie/mislead and steal from customers without consequence or any accountability. They render the customers rights as a fellow human being and citizen of a country void. UPS shows no concern for the wellbeing of its customers but cares only for finacial gain at the consequence of others. This is not limited to a hostile action towards the customer but also the Government and its ideals. The victim is rendered helpless unless he or she can compete at the same financial level as the UPS powerhouse. I'm sure this is common knowledge to them and besides what average middle class worker has the time or money to pursue such a laborious task? The crux of the issue is that he or she shouldn't have to and it is unjust.

The customer has aquired a service with certain expectations in mind and expects that the agreement made via signature and financial compensation will be fulfilled. If Bob needs to ship something from A to B and wants to insure something (the services offered by UPS) then those agreements should be met. Bob assumes as he is led to believe that the items will be shipped with care (as a boss paying an employee assumes that the employee will do his best in accordance with the aggreements made between himself and the boss) and if they are damaged the insurance offered by UPS via a second party will cover the damage and take responsibiliy for their employees faults. A package shouldn't need to be packed like Fort Knox. It should be packed for someone handling it with care.

I'm sure UPS immediately questions the definition of care because they don't care about the customers needs but only seek to further themselves at the expense of others. Well, care means that the packages are't being dropped, thrown, exposed to unhealthy environments, or riding unsecurely in the back of a fast moving vehicle. Their definition of "care" is get the item to its location as fast as possible so that we can make as much money as possible. If someone files a claim we (UPS) will automatically deny it and see who tires first.

Now to my situation. I had two Klipsch speakers (100lbs a piece) worth $2,000.00 shipped from a mail station in Washington via UPS to Ontario Canada. I packed them myself. I called two UPS stores and asked them how they would pack my items and each store gave different answers. I chose the most logical, styrofoam and bubble wrap, and shipped them off in double walled boxes bought from UPS. They arived severely damaged. One speaker was busted apart. These speakers are very derable and a symptom like that could only be contributed to extreme mishandling like a fall from a decent distance. I don't remeber paying for that. One speaker package was damp and the speaker had some rust on a screw. Another speaker had a woofer pushed in.
I contacted claims and they said that they could only deal with the shipper. I guess I'm not the shipper even though I signed the papers, the items belong to me, and I payed the $350.00.in UPS' mind the Mail Station is the shipper. So now I have to do all of the work for the claim and communicate everything to the Mail Station and they in turn comminucate that to UPS. That makes sense. So the Mail Station is expected to deliver the same fervor and information as I am. The Mail Station is going to care as much as me! So now I have to constantly call the Mail Station and hope that they will contact UPS. Well, they did and we got a response two months later denying the claim due to insufficient packing. That is a very smart way to avoid any responsibilty. Place the blame on the victim even though I consulted two UPS reps on packing and the speaker was busted apart which is only symtomatic of extreme abuse. Its now 6 months later and I have taken many pictures and written many words (work that is not my responsibility) to contest their denial. I also have a myriad of packing material and busted speakers that I can't enjoy with zero cooperation or compensation. I feel helpless and victimized by UPS.
