Purchased SONY DVD Home Theatre System and TV less than a year ago. The theatre system came with several speakers and within six months the center speaker which is the smallest speaker of whole system started disfunctioning with a brassy sound when playing DVD movies. After calling support we were advised that we would have to send the entire speaker system (total of 6 speakers) and have it shipped to Texas rather than just sending the small speaker that was broke. The Sony Tech already had us switch wiring on speakers to make sure it was just this one speaker that had problem and this was confirmed as the brassy/tingy sound did not come out of other speakers. This sytem was still within warranty and this is Sony's way of avoiding repairs or replacement parts to their customers because most customers will not go through the trouble and expense with shipping back entire speaker theatre system. We then went to Best Buy and purchased a Bose speaker to replace the small broken one but had to pay $200.00 for the Bose speaker.
