First of all, everyone should know that PayPal and eBay are one company. They have the same interest. These two companies depend on sellers for profits. eBay charges sellers a fee for selling items on its web site. PayPal charges sellers a handling fee for collecting funds from buyers. Because of this relationship, their revenue comes totally from sellers. These two companies will not be on your side if a dispute happens. You will not have a live person to talk to, and you will be left hanging for 30 to 60 days. By the end of the process, you will be lucky to get just a partial refund.
I want to take this opportunity to warn all buyers to use their own credit card (not the card issued by eBay or PayPal) to make payments for items purchased or won from eBay. If a dispute occurs and you are not satisfied with PayPal's solution, all you need to do is make one call to your credit card company. Your credit card company most likely will be on your side. It will be a whole lot faster and in your favor.
By the way, PayPal will encourage you to become a verified member. A verified member will have to agree to funding from your savings or checking account. If you do so and the payment happens to be drawn from your bank account... God bless if you can even get your money back in any dispute situation.
