Pure Weight Loss, also known as LA weight loss, has closed all of their Southern California locations over the past 2 months. They have closed in parts of Texas, Northern California and Washington. I used to work for the company and I can assure you that none of this knew this was coming. I stayed until the end, but I guess I should have known that something was wrong when the 2 top and most caring regional managers (veronica and jessica) quit and they fired our divisional manager (jenny) that had been here a long time.
We were given talks that we were going to be fine in 2008 and that we reallly were about helping clients lose weight. That is why we were there. We were selling programs one day and told to stop another. Products were missing and not being shipped.in one center, they didn't pay the heat and another had cockroaches running rampant. The Pure weightloss I worked for before was NOT like this.in one sentence, we were LIED to. I feel so bad for my clients who paid tons of money and then we shut the doors with no notice. Please believe we had NO notice either. As a center manager, I felt so decieved and felt out of the loop. I cared about all of my clients.
All of the good employyes were fired or forced to leave leaving 19 year olds running the centers alone. There are clients out there with full programs and 100 plus boxes of prepurchaed Lites who are going to walk up to a locked building. The company only cares about the money THAT'S it. The sad part is the program works but not through the internet which is where the company wants to go.
The executives at Pure and La should be ashamed of themselves. They are not good business people and the COO was a counselor herself at a center not long ago! They pray on people who are depserate to lose weight. We took their money, were lied to for months and I beleive the company knew they entire time they were going to shut down. I stood by them through a scathing report on 20/20, bad press and pissed off clients all for nothing. Besides being paid peanuts at the end and working 9 hour shifts alone, I used to love it.
Please, please, please - do not be fooled and do not think that they care they don't. Go after your money and your bars. You paid for them. File complaints and make your voices heard because this rip off company is counting on one thing... That you don't.
