Terrible Printing, Bad Business

I am COO of a magazine as well that used The Imaging Bureau. I was shocked that they had the audacity to even use our magazine to send to potential clients when they knew that we had a major issue with their printing.

We are a magazine that used the Imaging Bureau for our first 2 issues. It was our first issue out and we had alot of advertising riding on that fact. Basically Moe, I ran into the same exact problems with our printing. We noticed that the first few boxes were fine and then as we started to go thru the boxes, we noticed that our magazines had blistering marks on them. It's hard to explain other than to say that it looked like a big drop of water had been dropped on the covers and it blistered thru the entire magazine. We were told to send some back to our sales rep (Jeremy), which we did. We also had problem with the cutting process (2nd issue). We noticed that a few of the articles were cut off. This confused me, as they swore up and down they had quality assurance checks. (Which they should for such a company who brags about how many customers they have). This really concerned us as some of the issue's we did not see but went straight to our distributors. (2nd issue)

When this issue was bought up to the individuals at Imaging Bureau they were less then helpful about our loss as a company. They just don't understand the magazine business at all and that once a issue is ruined, no customer will buy it and that we take a loss. A loss that we cant afford to take as a company when we paid you 10,000 dollars to give us this great product you promised us. And when we don't sell all the pieces, we don't re-coup half the money!

Nevertheless, they assured us that the issues we had were of course some other company they dealt with that helped them put the issues together once they printed and that they had changed companies and it would never happen again. We never allowed them the opportunity to become multi-millionaires with any more of our hard earned money with their less than stellar business practices.

Another issue we had with them is the constant changing of shipping charges and they always blamed it on gas prices. Well when gas prices went down, surprise surprise thier shipping charges went up. As business owners, we felt they were price gorging and trying to make more money. However, when we called the company they were using to ship items and decided to do it ourselves, the shipping charges were cheaper. The shipment was coming from the same place and going to the same place.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. We took a loss as a business and if anyone is interested I can send you a copy of the blistering and issues so you can see for yourself. I hate to say it, but this company is a reason we went overseas to print. The hassle and customer service we recieve state side just wasn't worth it for us! It's diseheartning that a company that "makes so much money" and has so "many customers" is not willing to make amends to business's when they make mistakes. Sad...
