I purchased a refrigerator at the Home Depot in June. The salesman was explicit regarding the rebate clause and actually prepared all of the necessary 10 pages of required paperwork, including a copy of the original invoice super-imposed on page one of the documentation. I filled out and followed the mailing directions given to me.
Approximately two weeks ago I received a printed form from Home Depot Rebates stating that I had failed to include a copy of the original invoice with the ten page package. They also informed me that I would be getting a letter or post card "describing this problem." To date I have received nothing of the sort. It appears to be another stall tactic. I have answered them today, explaining that a copy of the original invoice is printed on the first page and up in the right hand corner. I even included a arrow pointing to this said area and explained that I do not see any problem. Their reply remains to be seen.
